Our bib deposit system helps ensure bibs are returned in good condition after events. When you register to collect your bib, we place a temporary £20 authorization hold on your payment method.

Euro Open 2025 Bib Deposits

1. Introduction

These terms govern your use of the Bib Deposits web app for the Euro Open 2025 competition. By placing a deposit, you agree to be bound by them.

2. Deposit Service

A £20 hold is placed on your card using Stripe.

If your competition bib is returned in good condition by the deadline notified at the event, the hold is released.

If your bib is lost or damaged, the £20 will be charged.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this service. If you are under 18, a parent/guardian must complete the deposit on your behalf.

4. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd. We do not handle or store your full card details. All transactions are subject to Stripe's terms of service.

5. Refunds & Liability

Deposits are automatically released when bibs are returned.

If your bib is not returned or is damaged, the £20 is charged and not refundable.

Our liability is limited to the value of the deposit you placed. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.

6. Changes to Service

We may modify or withdraw the service at any time (for example, if required by the event organiser).

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

1. Who We Are

This service ("Bib Deposits" web app, available at https://bibdeposits.tomclare.dev/euro-open-2025 ) is operated by Tom Clare ("we", "us", "our").

We are the data controller of the personal data you provide through this site. You can contact us at euroopen@river-legacy.org.

2. What Data We Collect

When you place a deposit, we collect:

Name and email address – provided by you and stored as metadata on your transaction

Payment card details – processed securely by Stripe (we do not see or store full card details)

Transaction information – date, amount, and status of your deposit

Note: We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.

3. Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

We process your personal data in order to:

Perform our contract with you (take a £20 bib deposit and refund/charge according to event rules)

Maintain records of deposits for administration and audit purposes (our legitimate interest)

4. Who We Share Data With

Stripe Payments UK Ltd

Acts as our payment processor. Stripe processes payment card data and stores metadata (your name/email).

Vercel Inc.

Hosts this web app. Standard web server logs may capture IP addresses when you visit the site.

We do not sell or share your data with other third parties.

5. International Data Transfers

Stripe and Vercel may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they apply appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

6. Data Retention

Deposit records: kept until all deposits are resolved (normally within 60 days after the event)

Transaction metadata: retained for up to 6 years to comply with accounting and audit requirements

After these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Request erasure (where applicable)

Restrict or object to processing

Request transfer of your data
